SSK Insurance is conveniently located within the service area of SSK and the insurance offices in Swellendam, Heidelberg, Riversdale, Mossel Bay and Avontuur and offers easy access to clients. The division strives to provide affordable, bespoke insurance solutions to their clients, both personal and commercial, without compromising their efficient service delivery. These commercial clients span a wide range of industries with the majority of them forming part of the agricultural value chain. SSK has been providing insurance services to their members and the general public since the 1950’s, and pride themselves in their level of service. Their friendly and experienced staff are always ready to be of assistance to you.

Qualified Staff

All insurance brokers meet the competency requirements as prescribed by the FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority), and each one has their Representative Certificate (RE5). James Ackhurst, Celia le Roux, Jacques de Beer, Abrie Jooste, Elisna Steyn, Frans Marx and Bettie Barnard also completed their Key Person Certificate (RE1) examinations successfully and currently Bettie Barnard is the registered Key Person at SSK Insurance.

Authorised FSP

Sentraal-Suid Co-operative Ltd is an authorised Financial Service Provider (FSP licence nr. 1107) licensed to provide financial advisory services, as well as financial intermediatery services in respect of the following products:

Short-term Insurance – Categories: Personal Lines (1.2 & 1.23) and Commercial Lines (1.6) (including Agricultural Lines)
Long-term Insurance – Categories: B1 en B2 (1.3, 1.22, 1.20, 1.21)

Short-term Cover

SSK Insurance markets the products of recognized insurers in South Africa and currently has agreements with, among others, Old Mutual Insure, Santam, Auto & General, Hollard, Landmark, Merx Kommersiële Onderskrywers, Paladin, Thatch Risk Acceptances, CTC (Commercial & Transport Consultants), AMUA (Associated Marine Underwriting Agency), Genlib, Mirabilis, Camargue, SHA Specialist Underwriters, BnBsure, CTU (Clarendon Transport Underwriters), Western Insurance, KEU Underwriting Managers, King Price Insurance, XLTransit, Travel Insurance Company, Safire Insurance Company, Stratum, Momentum Insurance and Bryte. SSK does not own any shares nor has a financial interest in any of the aforementioned product suppliers. More than 30% of the division’s total remuneration, including commission over the last 12 months, was earned from Old Mutual Insure.

Crop Cover

For agricultural producers, SSK offers crop insurance (including Fire Cover) by Mutual & Federal, Agriseker and Santam Agriculture.

Other Services

Through other brokers, the following are also offered for your convenience: Discovery Medical Plans (MGB Pty Ltd), Life Insurance (MGB Pty Ltd), Group Life Insurance (Seed Benefit Consulting CC) and Funeral Cover (Metropolitan Life).

Indemnity Insurance

SSK has Professional Indemnity Insurance at AIG South Africa Limited (Policy referal SENTR 001/0001).

Complaint Procedure
